Dr. Cerić: It's time for you to leave power, don't shame us anymore!

The floods in our country have revealed all the dirt of the current government, but also confirmed the moral greatness of the ordinary Bosnian man. Although we as citizens are aware of the dirtiness of the rulers in our country, others are still opening our eyes - stated Dr. Mustafa Cerić, candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the latest reactions of international officials regarding the distribution of aid to flood victims.

We hoped, added Dr. Cerić, that the recent serious, diplomatically unusual, criticisms from the Japanese ambassador would have an impact and at least shame the politicians a little, which has clearly not happened.

- Showing all their shamelessness and insolence, as the Japanese ambassador already said, the politicians who were expected to do their job and help flood victims did not do what they were paid and responsible for. Friends from the international community have noticed this again.

Officials from the US Embassy in our country, David Barth and Scott Miller, in an official blog of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, remind us again of the bitter truth that politicians, whose duty it was to deliver aid intended for the most vulnerable, did not do so, but rather directed it into their "personal empires".

Just like the Japanese ambassador, the American diplomats did not shy away from stating the clear truth about the behavior of Bosnian-Herzegovinian rulers, and they themselves conclude: "Politicians in Bosnia and Herzegovina have proven incapable or unwilling to match the efforts of the international community, even by half, deciding to act according to their usual practice of favoritism, party interests, secret deals, and shifting blame to others.".

- I am ashamed, as are all of us, to hear this, and I feel pain in my soul that those who desperately need help are still living in uncertainty, while politicians are competing in a campaign, offering empty talk and hollow promises again. Have we really, as citizens, reached the point where lessons on the basics of political and moral behavior must be taught to us by friends from around the world, pointing out how dirty the government we have is and how great our responsibility is to change that government - stated Dr. Cerić, emphasizing that this is the last chance to save the country's reputation and the nation's honor and pride.

- If the politicians to whom the reprimands from the Japanese ambassador and American diplomats are addressed have even a shred of moral and human integrity within them, they should be jolted, awakened, and realize that it is time for their resignations, time for their withdrawal from the political scene, not for an attempt to remain on it. Our country needs new people, with new energy, new elan, a new vision, and true moral compassion for all people, especially those who are endangered in any way," believes Dr. Cerić.

He warns that there is no more time to waste, nor convincing excuses for this government.

- We must all stand up and take care of a better future for our children and our country, because it cannot go on like this anymore. Everyone has a red line below which they must not go - concluded Dr. Cerić, emphasizing: "It is time for them to leave power and stop shaming us!"
