Dr. Cerić: The world must not live in fear of those who do not value freedom

On this day, exactly 13 years ago, the world was shaken by images of unprecedented terrorism – attacks on New York and Washington.

Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who is on a four-day visit to the United States of America, welcomed the address by US President Barack Obama last night, and once again expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

- I express my condolences to the victims of September 11, 2001, in the same way that the American people express their condolences to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica every July 11. Our message to the American people is that we share happiness and pain; that we share values in our efforts for every person to enjoy freedom and for nations not to live in fear of those who do not value freedom and who violate human rights - stated Dr. Cerić.

He emphasized that the speech by US President Barack Obama last night is a clear signal to the whole world that the American people have not given up on the fundamental values of freedom and solidarity with all those whose freedom is threatened and whom the world has clearly forgotten.

- We in Bosnia know best what it is like to be abandoned and forgotten, and so we also know best now that America's determination not to stand aside while innocent people and nations are killed, while millions of people are expelled from their homes, but rather to do together with the entire free world what must be done, and that is to ensure peace and security in the Middle East, in Ukraine, but also in the whole world, and to ensure that children can go to school, that mothers can give birth to children, and that the cradle of human civilization can continue to be a spiritual and moral inspiration to all of humanity - stated Dr. Cerić.
