Dr. Cerić: We support the work of the judiciary and demand the suspension of Zubac!

We call on the Independent Board of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Council of Ministers and the Presidency of BiH to urgently take measures and suspend the Director of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) Goran Zubac after it was announced that the Court of BiH confirmed the indictment against him, it was announced today from the Press Service of the independent candidate for the Presidency of BiH, Mustafa Cerić.

- If domestic institutions and authorities do not have, or do not have the courage to do so, then we call on the international community and the High Representative to fulfill their obligation and prevent the indicted Zubac from continuing to lead the most important police agency in the country - the statement said.

By suspending and dismissing Zubac, who is charged with dereliction of duty, the state of BiH must show and answer the question, as they emphasize, whether all citizens are equal before the law.  

- We welcome the work of the judicial bodies of BiH, which have initiated a process to determine the guilt or innocence of the indicted Zubac in the case of the reaction to the attack on the Presidency of BiH. However, it is the duty of state institutions to immediately suspend a person who is under the burden of a confirmed indictment - the statement said.

The press service of Dr. Cerić reminds that there were earlier reports that SIPA Director Zubac had a discriminatory attitude towards certain Bosniak police officers, and serious suspicions of connections with war crimes.

- We hope that the judicial bodies and state institutions will shed light on all this information and enable the citizens of BiH to have a functional police agency that will work for the benefit and protect the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We believe in the rule of law, which is the only way to ensure peace and tranquility for all citizens of our country - the statement said, reports NAP.
