Dr. Cerić: Let all leaders run for the Presidency

I am convinced that it would be best for the citizens and the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina if all political party leaders ran for the BiH Presidency and thus tested their legitimacy and trust among the people, stated dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for a member of the BiH Presidency, for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

When asked by the Patria agency to comment on his opponents, including Bakir Izetbegović from SDA, and the fact that SDP and the Alliance for Better Future – Fahrudin Radončić have not yet put forward their favorites, dr. Cerić says he has no intention of commenting on his rivals individually.

- I am ready to comment on political programs and actions. I think it is best for all party presidents to run for the BiH Presidency. Only then will they be convinced whether and to what extent voters are satisfied with what they are doing. Let them check how much the people trust them as political party leaders in direct elections – dr. Cerić.

According to him, the problem in BiH is that the government that parties form after the elections does not have full legitimacy and does not represent the will of the voters.

- That is why we have a problem with responsibility for problems, which leaders constantly shift from one to another. My political mission is to return the right to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina to have a government that citizens want, not one that parties craft through political bargaining – emphasizes dr. Cerić.

He reminds that his current stance fully corresponds with the initiative for the highest officials to leave their party positions after being elected.

- Whoever wins is the president of all citizens, those who voted for him, but also those who did not. Everyone must respect this fact and show political maturity that is recognized in the democratic world – adds dr. Cerić in a telephone statement to NAP.
