Dr. Cerić: I hope for better cooperation with Turkey

The Turkish people have decided. By directly electing the president of the state for the first time, they have shown that Recep Tayyip Erdogan has earned their trust. Therefore, I congratulate President Erdogan, as well as the Turkish people - says in his congratulatory message to the newly elected Turkish president Dr. Mustafa Cerić, candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dr. Cerić also congratulates the high democratic culture of the Turkish people, with the wish that Turkey continues its path of preserving peace and stability in the region and the world.

- I expect that the traditionally friendly relations between sovereign Bosnia and Herzegovina and democratic Turkey will continue in the spirit of mutual respect and cooperation for peace and stability in the Balkans, Europe, and the world - emphasizes Dr. Cerić.

He adds that Bosnia and Herzegovina, as an independent and sovereign state, has reason to express its satisfaction that Turkey is advancing in its democratic development, economic growth, and increasingly strong diplomatic influence in the world.

- I am convinced that Turkey, led by President Tayyip Erdogan, will continue to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the diversity of its religious and cultural values, as well as economic interests. I am also convinced that Turkey, led by President Erdogan, will use its influence in the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) on the path of reforms necessary for the further progress of our country towards Euro-Atlantic integrations, especially for the full membership of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in NATO - stresses Dr. Cerić.
