Dr. Cerić: Youth, do not go to foreign battlefields!

Following the events in Iraq, Syria, Ukraine, where a local conflict is taking on global dimensions, I feel it is my moral obligation and patriotic duty to address the youth in our country, according to the statement by Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH.

- I am concerned about our youth, for whom paths to success are opening up, I am concerned that they cannot find their place in this society and fulfill their life ideals, so some of them fall for dubious promises, which often end in death. Life is God's gift! Life is beautiful, life is joy, and therefore one should not tempt fate by following dubious promises and paths that bring misfortune to our community. Therefore, I call on the youth not to, in any way, with their words, behavior, or susceptibility, put our community, our society, our country in a difficult situation, thereby making our situation worse than it is - states Dr. Cerić.

- I call on the youth not to go to foreign battlefields and give their lives for the interests of others. Young people must know that their country needs them too, that they can still give a lot to their homeland and receive a lot from it. I also call on society to pay attention to all the needs of young people, especially spiritual and moral ones, so that young people do not have to seek answers from those who abuse their sincerity and gullibility - it was announced.

It is especially important that state bodies enforce the rule of law in a way that consistently protects the rights of every individual. There can be no justification for physical or mental violence against anyone, just as irresponsible behavior that causes prejudice against our religious and cultural values cannot be tolerated, especially when it comes to Islam and Muslims.

Therefore, we condemn every form of hate speech that can result in violence. We want to believe that law enforcement agencies and courts in our country are not burdened by prejudice, and that they will make decisions based on facts, not on prejudice and false accusations, with the aim of creating an apparent fight against terrorism.

Condemning every form of abuse of religion, I support the establishment of order and the rule of law that ensures peace and security for every individual and the entire society. The state is obliged to watch over the rights of every individual to life, faith, property, and honor.
