Dr. Cerić: A stone on Ferhadija is a stone on the soul

The Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka was once again targeted last night. Under the pretext of a lost basketball game, the Banja Luka beauty was once again targeted by vandals. A reaction came from the office of Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH.

- The stoning of the Ferhadija Mosque in Banja Luka does not diminish the mosque's value, but rather speaks to the violation of human rights of citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Therefore, I most strongly condemn the violence in Banja Luka and call on state authorities, as well as international community institutions responsible for implementing peace in our country, to act urgently to identify the organizers and perpetrators of this violent act - said Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- A stone thrown at the mosque in Banja Luka is a stone on the soul and honor of every honest person who does not hate other people because of their different faith. I sincerely express my sympathy to the Bosniak Muslims in Banja Luka with the message that they know they are not alone and that their spiritual pain due to the stoning of Ferhadija is certainly also the pain of every person with a pure heart and good will," emphasized Dr. Cerić, adding that this, like any other "attack on the faith and human honor of anyone, should unite us in our endeavor to have a strong state throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a state that will protect the human rights of all people and nations regardless of faith and nationality - said Dr. Cerić.

- I thought that the murder of Murat Badić was a strong enough warning to the authorities in Banja Luka to protect human honor and not allow hooligans to desecrate mosques, churches, synagogues, and cemeteries - emphasized Dr. Cerić.
