Dr. Cerić: The date of Izet Nanić's martyrdom should unite all Bosniaks

Gratitude for the freedom that Bosniaks enjoy today should be especially given to the people of Krajina. Because, it was Krajina that played the most important role in preserving the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina during the aggression against our country, said Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate for the Bosniak member of the Presidency of BiH in the upcoming General Elections in BiH.

The anniversary of the death of Izet Nanić, the legendary commander of the 505th Knightly Brigade of the 5th Corps of the Army of RBiH, is being marked today in Bužim. More than 700 participants from Krajina, and from cities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, will set off at 1 PM on a 15-kilometer march towards Ćorkovača, the place where Nanić lost his life in clashes with the aggressor Army of Republika Srpska in 1995.

He is the founder of the Territorial Defense headquarters in Bužim, the founder of the 105th Bužim Strike Krajina Brigade (later 105th BUMB - 505th Knightly Motorized Brigade), and he formed the special units "Hamza" and "Gazije".

- The date marking the anniversary of Izet Nanić's martyrdom should unite all Bosniaks in their efforts to achieve a better future in our only Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Dr. Cerić for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- As before, I am convinced that the heart of Krajina will not betray Bosnia and Herzegovina, but will always be on the side of truth and justice for our people and for our state. I have confidence in the fighters from Krajina, I feel their soul and heart – said Dr. Cerić, writes NAP.
