(Patria) - The KS Office for Combating Corruption and Quality Management has taken its most significant steps to combat corruption to date. This involves a series of initiated activities that have even informed Washington, i.e., US government institutions, concerning crime and corruption in the field of construction and spatial planning in Sarajevo Canton, writes Fokus.ba.

In its work so far, they have uncovered numerous irregularities and corrupt practices in the area of construction in Sarajevo that have a huge impact on citizens' quality of life, as well as on the environment and natural resources.

In this regard, they have already documented a series of criminal offense cases which they have forwarded to the KS Prosecutor's Office.

On Monday, the Office for Combating Corruption will present the results of its activities to the entire public at a press conference on the topic of "Corruption in Construction and Spatial Planning in Sarajevo Canton".

At that time, the public will also be presented with an educational and informational video material titled "According to Whose Measure?", the production of which was initiated and realized by the Office with the help and support of the US Embassy in BiH, with the aim of highlighting the irregularities and corruption risks that it has observed and identified during its processing of received corruption reports in this area.

This is a video that was partly filmed with drones, lasts 20 minutes, and the public will be shown several specific cases of corruption in construction, as well as illegal logging...

What is also interesting in all of this is the information that the Office has placed a special emphasis on how political parties are financed with money obtained in such a way!

Fokus has confirmed that the Office will initiate the formation of an interdepartmental working group within the KS institutions that will deal with this issue.

The fact that the US Ambassador Eric Nelson, Head of the EU Delegation in BiH Johann Sattler, Head of the OSCE Mission in BiH Kathleen Kavalec, as well as the British Ambassador to BiH Matthew Field, and the Swedish Ambassador Johanna Stromquist will address the press conference on Monday, in addition to the Head of the Office for Combating Corruption Erduan Kafedžić, testifies to the magnitude of this problem.
