I came a step away from Las Vegas and the world title

Bosnian boxer Damir Beljo, after recently defending his WBO European cruiserweight title in Široki Brijeg and delighting the Bosnian public by stopping the audience's whistling during the national anthem, is currently staying with his manager Ivan Dijaković in Orlando, USA, at the WBO boxing convention, reports the Patria News Agency.

 

Beljo was invited to Florida as one of the candidates for a challenger position to the current world champion, Pole Krzysztof Glowacki.

It is not yet known when Damir can challenge for the world title, and, as he said, it is a great honor for him to be there among the great names in the world of boxing and that he was singled out and called twice among so many great names and fighters.

- Among so many boxing names, the president of WBO for Europe, Istvan KOKO Kovacs, singled me out and said that I am a great potential and one of the most serious candidates for the world title. I didn't expect him to call me out like that, which is why we didn't manage to record my announcement. It is an honor for me to be here, that God has blessed me so much and loves me so much. I came a step away from Las Vegas and the world title - says Beljo.

In his speech at this convention, the European champion expressed his hope that the world title will soon be in his hands.

- In the end, I said thank you to everyone and God bless you all! Tomislav Dijaković also added that he wants them to include us in the top 3 because we are currently in the top 6 and to fight for the world title - said Beljo.

His speech was met with ovations and delight from those present, and even some movie stars wanted to take pictures with our boxer, which was a special honor for him.
