Đonlagić: The Constitutional Court of BiH is a constitutional matter, and it should be treated as such

(Patria) - Delegate in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Dženan Đonlagić (DF) was a guest today on the show BHT1 Uživo, discussing the current political situation in our country.

Đonlagić addressed the challenges facing the House of Peoples in its work, as well as the political tensions hindering the legislative process. He also analyzed the electoral success of DF, highlighting the key cities and municipalities where they achieved the best results.

- Everything is contrary to what these two parties promised the citizens. A change occurred, but for the worse. It is evident that there is a problem with staffing by Our Party and People and Justice.

They promised transparency and meritocracy, but there is none of that - said Đonlagić, commenting on the arrests at the Sarajevo public company Rad.

Regarding the coalition at the state level, he says things are not functioning - since March, not a single European law has been passed.

- The Council of Ministers of BiH is not adopting laws, the Federation of BiH is in no better state, things are not working in the parliamentary benches, there is no accountability - Đonlagić said.

Regarding the deficit of 80 million KM in the Sarajevo Canton, he says it was expected.

- This is an inherited deficit from 2023. They did not take into account that there would be lower revenue from the level of the Federation of BiH, both the revenue and expenditure sides of the budget were inflated. The budget of the Sarajevo Canton is in serious trouble. What I see as a solution is a rebalancing, to bring the year to a close - Đonlagić assesses.

When asked whether the House of Peoples is blocking, he replied - by no means.

- We have had three or four sessions since March. Even we from the opposition initiated one. The House of Peoples is working - Đonlagić said.

He believes it is unacceptable for an unconstitutional text of the Draft Law on the Constitutional Court to enter the parliamentary procedure.

- We must build the state properly. We have reached a stage where the Parliamentary Assembly is a battleground for counting votes on whether to dismantle the Constitutional Court.

The House of Peoples must find a solution. What is important to say is that the Constitutional Court of BiH is a constitutional matter. This was also stated by the OHR and the US Embassy earlier - Đonlagić concluded.
