Đonlagić: DF's decision is difficult and brave

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - DF Vice-President Dženan Đonlagić rejected accusations that the party joined the "Bosniak representation" after the official start of negotiations between SDA and DF today, regarding the future government to be formed at the state and Federation of BiH level.

"Attributing that to us, who have a member of the Presidency of BiH from the Croat people, a Vice-President of the Federation of BiH from the Serb people, presidents of clubs and representatives from the Bosniak and other peoples and from the Others, delegates in the Houses of Peoples from the Croat people and from the Others, is a story that 'won't fly'," Đonlagić said.

Commenting on the Agreement on the Formation of Government, signed today by SDA and DF, SDP BiH President Nermin Nikšić said that he is not one to lament over it, but added that time will tell who was right.

"It became clear today that the decision of DF's bodies was actually to join the Bosniak bloc with SDA, which they skillfully tried to camouflage by saying they would talk to all other political parties – whether that's true, I don't know, but I don't know if there were any talks with any political party at all. It is evident that what everyone expected and what everyone knew culminated in the signing of the SDA and DF agreement," Nikšić said.

Đonlagić, on the other hand, says that DF patiently and often humbly waited for SDP for months, respecting that party's election results, "so that with the result of 284 thousand votes in the left-civic bloc, we would together be the engine of government establishment."

"But you didn't dare, want, wish, or whatever, it doesn't matter anymore," Đonlagić said.

The DF Vice-President believes that the party cannot and will no longer wait for the chance for civic politics to disappear and vanish forever from the political scene.

"Our decision is difficult, brave, but worth the opportunity, the chance for civic politics and the concept of government to remain in active politics through our work in the legislative, but also the executive power. Therefore, in our institutions where decisions will be made," Đonlagić said.
