Decision on strike reached: Zenica miners to come to Sarajevo on Monday

Miners from Zenica's Stara Jama and Raspotočje have made a decision to go on strike and a Strike Committee has been formed. If nothing changes over the weekend, the miners will head to Sarajevo at 8 AM on Monday, reports a reporter from the Bosnian news agency Patria.

The strike decision came into effect at 12 PM. The miners demand continuous payment of meal allowances and salaries, holiday pay, and investment in equipment.

Mehmed Oruč, president of the Miners' Union, said they are going to Sarajevo to achieve their demands.

- There has been no contact with the management or authorities, and I believe that people in the Government and the EP of BiH will consider the problem and come up with a proposal - Oruč said.
