Domazet: Business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina to improve very soon

Anto Domazet, a professor at the Faculty of Economics in Sarajevo, believes that the business environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which has been largely disrupted in recent years, will improve very soon, writes the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

A brighter future for Bosnia and Herzegovina, says this economic analyst, has already been assessed by foreign investors, although political stability is not so bright at the moment, hence the growing interest of Chinese investors who want to invest in BiH, as well as investors coming to our country from the Far East or other countries. However, this will not stop at individual cases. Bosnia and Herzegovina will, Domazet believes, increasingly be the focus of their interest.

- Foreign investors, especially those from Far Eastern countries, see Bosnia and Herzegovina as part of the European Union, and they want to use it as a gateway to enter the EU market – Domazet told NAP.

- And, during the time until BiH becomes part of that European market, they want to prepare and strengthen their positions in BiH, which can certainly be positive for the citizens of this country.

In recent years, Chinese investors have been particularly interested in investing in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Block 7 of the Tuzla Thermal Power Plant is to be built with investments from Chinese banks, which will be measured in billions of convertible marks, and yesterday, between the Chinese company for the production of heavy mining machinery China National Coal Mining Equipment Co., Ltd, Elektro-Elektronik Pranjić GmbH from Germany, and the company Bosanska rudarska tehnika from Zenica, it was agreed that this Chinese consortium will open a representative office in Zenica, writes NAP.
