Domagoj Duvnjak Best Player of the European Championship

(Patria) - Domagoj Duvnjak is the best player of the European Handball Championship! Duvnjak carried Croatia to the final, we remember that he won player of the match titles even when he wasn't brilliant in attack, but he was fantastic in defense.

His performance in the 5-1 defense was brought to near perfection, and later during the tournament, as a true captain and leader, he carried the national team in the attacking part as well, deserving the MVP title.

Besides him, Igor Karačić also received a great recognition, being named in the ideal seven at the center back position. Karačić also had a great tournament, playing a memorable match against Spain in the group stage, and we wish him to repeat that in the final.

In goal for the ideal team is Gonzalo Perez de Vargas, and the best defensive player is the German Hendrik Pekeler.

Also in the ideal team are Sander Sagosen on the left back and Jorge Maqueda on the right back, Bence Banhidi at pivot, and on the wings, Magnus Jøndal on the left and Blaž Janc on the right.

Duvnjak is the only Croatian, along with Ivano Balić, to have won the MVP title. Balić did it twice, in 2004 and 2006, and after him, Nikola Karabatic won the trophy twice, while Filip Jicha, Momir Ilić, Raul Entrerrios, and last year's winner Jim Gottfridsson won it once each after Balić.
