Hosts of the reception on the occasion of BiH Statehood Day: Izetbegović and Čović

In the building of the Presidency of BiH, around 6 PM, a ceremonial reception began on the occasion of November 25, BiH Statehood Day, reports the Bosnian news agency Patria.

Numerous guests congratulated Statehood Day to the hosts, the Bosniak and Croat members of the Presidency of BiH, Bakir Izetbegović and Dragan Čović, for whom this is the first official reception after the constitutive session on November 17.

As is "traditional," the reception is not attended by the Serb member and Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, Mladen Ivanić, who explained this by saying there is no law on state holidays. Today, he is attending the constitutive session of the National Assembly of the RS.

The reception is attended by guests from the public, cultural, and political life of BiH, as well as officials from the international community.

Izetbegović and Čović said in their speech that a strong, politically stable, and economically strong BiH should be built. It will not be easy, but the principles of ZAVNOBiH should be followed.

Miro Lazović, a BiH politician, said that there has been a personal change in the Presidency of BiH, but not a change in political practice, because Mladen Ivanić is not at the reception. He said that state holidays need to be determined by law.
