House of Peoples of PS BiH adopts amendments to the Law on HJPC, judicial officeholders can assume duties

(Patria) - After the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina
(PS BiH) adopted the Law on the Budget of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and International Obligations of Bosnia and Herzegovina for 2024, proposed by the Presidency of BiH under an urgent procedure, delegates also supported the other two items on the agenda.

The House of Peoples of PS BiH also adopted, under an urgent procedure, the Law on Amendments to the Law on the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council of BiH, proposed by the Council of Ministers of BiH. These amendments were previously adopted by the House of Representatives. These amendments postpone the deadline for the establishment of the Department for Integrity until February 2025. This unblocks the process of appointing and assuming duties of judicial officeholders.

The House previously adopted the proposer's request for this Bill to be considered
under an urgent procedure.

The House also adopted, under an urgent procedure, the Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on
Public Procurement, proposed by the House of Representatives of PS BiH. The House
of Peoples previously adopted the request submitted by the House of Representatives of PS BiH for this legislative proposal to be considered under an urgent legislative procedure.
