House of Peoples of the FBiH adopts Spatial Plan, preconditions created for continuation of Corridor 5C construction

Delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH adopted the Spatial Plan for the area of special features of significance for FBiH "Highway on Corridor 5C", which will be valid for the next 20 years. The delegates also adopted the government's amendments, which define the complete route of the 5C highway from Svilaj (border with Croatia in the north) to Bijača (border with Croatia in the south).

The adopted government amendments also mean changes to the route of Corridor 5C. The most significant changes relate to the section Konjic (Ovčari junction) - Mostar North. The government requested that the section go through a tunnel under Prenj, which will shorten the highway route by 18 kilometers, but also ensure significant savings.

According to the new government amendments, the highway route on the section Mostar North - Mostar South would, instead of through Blagaj, run between Mostar Airport and the M17 main road.

Planned route corrections from Doboj South to Drivuša should resolve the issue of the connection of the Tuzla - Žepče highway to the highway on Corridor 5C and define the corridor route through Žepče.

The Federation of BiH has so far built 92 kilometers of highway on Corridor 5C, and by the end of 2018, an additional 40 kilometers should be operational, Patria reports.
