House of Peoples: Majkić claims 'OHR is the biggest culprit for the crisis', and BiH declared an 'impossible state'

(Patria) - An emergency session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina (PA BiH) on the blockade of the BiH Parliament began today, with delegates from the Serb Club also attending.

Five delegates in the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH submitted a request on November 22 for an urgent convening of a session of that house to discuss the “Information of the Collegium of the House of Peoples of the PA BiH on the reasons for the blockade of the work of the highest legislative body of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with special reference to the explanation of the legal basis for blocking the work of this state authority.”

Denis Bećirović, one of those who has been demanding the holding of a session for months, asked the Collegium of the House what the legal basis for the blockades was, and Bakir Izetbegović, as a member of the Collegium, said there was no legal basis for the blockade.

“Receiving a salary for not coming to work and causing damage to every citizen of this country is irresponsible. I think the damage from stubborn spite-policies is enormous. It can be measured in billions of marks, in hundreds of thousands of emigrated people, and I fear that in about 10 years, if this continues, we will wonder what we did to this country in 2021. When the country was losing its biological substance and young, healthy people were leaving. And in 2030, we will ask who will earn our pensions,” said Izetbegović.

Marina Pendeš pointed out that this is the highest body and that here they represent the three constituent peoples.

"It is very important to create the preconditions for holding sessions. History must be our teacher of life. The state of BiH is my homeland, but I am also a Croat and have Croatian citizenship, but I want to organize BiH as stated in the Dayton Peace Agreement. If someone believes that someone is blocking, we must see why that someone is doing it. Why don't we start changing the law, why don't we amend the Election Law so that Croats also get full constituent status," said Pendeš.

Dušanka Majkić, a delegate, said they must adhere to the conclusions of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS).

"Colleague Bećirović said we should adhere to the principles of constitutionality and legality. I thought, where would we be if we hadn't demolished all that. We also think that damage was caused by inaction, but we do not see the same reasons," said Majkić, and then began talking about the imposition of amendments to the Criminal Law by Valentin Inzko.

"The NSRS sent us a message and we reject the imposed decisions of the High Representative. We believe that there are no conditions for making decisions, except in cases where it is necessary to prevent decisions against the interests of the RS, until the imposed law is rejected," said Majkić.

"The OHR is the biggest culprit for the crisis," added Majkić, adding that Bosniak parties were not ready to sit down with the other two sides.

"We could have done much more if we had just sat down. That is why they say it is an impossible state that cannot survive in this way. Those who expect foreigners to fulfill their wish will have a hard time," added Majkić and announced a special session of the NSRS where they will decide on the 'fate of BiH'!
