House of Peoples: Amendments to the Law on BiH Armed Forces, more precise conditions for promotion and retirement

Delegates of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH at the session on March 2nd will, among other things, consider the Bill on Amendments and Additions to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (first reading), writes the Patria News Agency.

The Council of Ministers of BiH determined the Bill on Amendments and Additions to the Law on Service in the Armed Forces of BiH in December last year, which more fully defines certain legal solutions that are not adequately regulated in the existing law.

The amendments and additions to the Law, among other things, introduce and define the term "candidates in training" as a category of persons in service in the Armed Forces, more flexibly regulate the procedure for electing and appointing officers to the formation position of a regiment commander, and more precisely prescribe the conditions for promotion and meeting the conditions for retirement.

The Ministry of Defence submitted the Bill to the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for consideration under the basic legislative procedure, and the Legal and Constitutional Affairs Committee determined that the law is harmonized with the Constitution of BiH and the legal system. (acz)
