Doctors and Dentists in TK Ready for Collective Resignation

TUZLA, (Patria) - Members of the Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of Tuzla Canton (TK) protested in Tuzla today.

They stated that, if no agreement is reached with the authorities, they are ready to sign collective resignations.

The Professional Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of TK has been trying for some time to reach an agreement with the authorities in TK, but so far they have not succeeded in their efforts to even have their representativeness recognized, which is a prerequisite for negotiating a collective agreement.

- You can see that we are blocked, that we are being denied the possibility to strike in a legal way. That means, on the same day we announce a strike, we receive a ban on striking, which obstructs our democratic opportunity to express our opinion, our legal right - said the President of the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry of TK, Nermina Kravić.

Progress might be possible on Monday, when a meeting of Union representatives is scheduled at the Government of Tuzla Canton. The outcome of that meeting will determine whether nearly 1,000 doctors will submit collective resignations.

Today, colleagues from the Union of Doctors of Medicine and Dentistry from other cantons in the Federation of BiH expressed their support for their counterparts from Tuzla Canton.
