Đokić reiterates that genocide should not be denied, Dodik did not call him about it

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Genocide should not be denied - said SP president Petar Đokić again last night.

"This should be understood and we should never stop searching for the complete truth about what preceded all of this that ultimately produced such a stance that genocide happened somewhere, not just in these areas but also in some others where people suffered en masse," said Đokić.

He believes that the fight for truth should continue and that a way should be found to reach it.

Asked if he had any communication with coalition partner Milorad Dodik on this topic afterwards, he said that he did not call him regarding the statements about genocide.

"We must be ready to face the truth about genocide! We also have verdicts from international courts, confessions, repentance...", said Đokić.

He said that people in these areas are running away from the truth.

"If we had talked more openly about crimes, we would have by now found data on where each crime happened and who committed it! We cannot collectivize guilt! We need to concretize guilt! We need to talk about specific names, numbers, and places," said Đokić.

Commenting on the amendments to the criminal code on punishing genocide denial, he said that the former High Representative in BiH, Valentin Inzko, should not have passed such a law, and especially should not have done so on the day he decided to leave.

He believes that Inzko had instructions from someone to do it, perhaps from a group of countries within the Quint.

Đokić said that the Government of Republika Srpska has started working on drafting laws based on the conclusions of the special session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska on returning competencies from BiH to Republika Srpska.
