While some bury victims, others bury the truth about Srebrenica

The stance of the leaders of the entity of Republika Srpska and the Republic of Serbia is the public denial of the crime of genocide and even the Resolution on Srebrenica. For a full 20 years, these same people have publicly denied genocide, every day of the year, looking into the faces of the victims' families. Now they deny the crime of genocide before the world public, which sees such evasions as a mockery of justice.  

Dodik denies the genocide in Srebrenica, although he has already publicly acknowledged it. Ivanić denies the British Resolution on Srebrenica and considers it destabilising for BiH.

Karadžić, who is languishing in The Hague for the genocide in Srebrenica and other serious crimes, can be proud of these two.  

On repentance and reconciliation

In twenty years, not a single serious article has been published in the media of Serbia and the RS acknowledging the terrible crime of genocide.

If the perpetrator does not accept justice, what kind of justice is that? If there is no awareness of the crime committed, how can there be conscience and the most basic human repentance, which alone leads to reconciliation?

Until now, in the RS, they have defended themselves with the story that Bosniaks want to politicise the genocide in Srebrenica, consciously denying the fact that all those people were killed by the criminal policy of creating a Greater Serbia pursued by Milošević and Karadžić.   

If for a full twenty years not a single text about the essence and details of the genocide tragedy has been published in Serbian media on both sides of the Drina, who then is politicising the crime of genocide in Srebrenica? 

If even today attempts are made to soften the facts about the genocide in the British „Resolution of Conscience“, what is that if not a brutal politicisation of the crime.

Nikolić even asked Putin for Russia to vote against the Resolution on Srebrenica in the UN Security Council. What is that if not the pinnacle of politicisation of the crime of genocide. A planetary human tragedy is being pushed into new bloc divisions, into a new Cold War, into all kinds of political conflicts and divisions. All this, just so the truth would not be told to their own people. Because they rode into power on stories of honesty, nobility, and the complete sinlessness of the nation to which they belong.    

Only once did it happen that a journalist in Banja Luka wrote a text about a lesser-known crime of the VRS, and then, in a terrorist act, he was made a lifelong severe invalid.

The leaders of Republika Srpska deny the Bosnian language and the right to language, they publicly deny the Bosniak nation, the right of Bosniaks to culture, to history, to constitutional equality. They, unfortunately, deny the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina just as they deny the genocide in Srebrenica.

The Prime Minister of Serbia, Vučić, often falls into irrational political sevdah: „Republika Srpska always and only can rely on Serbia“. We haven't heard a more open statement about denying the state and dividing BiH in a long time.   

Dodik enters a dubious process of historical revisionism, Ivanić would diplomatically soften the horror of the execution of 8,372 human beings. Both say they do this in the name of reconciliation. Shouldn't the peoples know why and in the name of what reconciliation will come? While some bury victims, others persistently and shamelessly bury the truth.   

Is there a court for the crime of genocide? 

The verdict for the genocide in Srebrenica at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) in The Hague is binding. It is known that this court, through its decisions in disputes, changes state borders, provides solutions that must be respected in international law. The decisions of the International Court of Justice enter atlases, history books, textbooks for children...     

After all this, Dodik demands a referendum on the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, denying its decisions and the purpose of its existence.

The policy in the RS denies the crime of genocide in Srebrenica, and equally denies the verdict of the International Court of Justice.

We have already heard countless times from the political top of Banja Luka the denial and non-recognition of the authority of the Tribunal in The Hague.

One must ask: Is there any earthly and God's court regarding the crime in Srebrenica that these people would recognise? Is there, even outside the court, in the human heart and mind, the possibility of acknowledging that the crime was committed and that it is finally time for peace for the victims?
