While Sarajevo bid farewell to genocide victims, BiH Court lifts detention for Stevandić and Višković

(Patria) - While Sarajevo bid farewell to genocide victims who will find their final resting place on July 11 in Potočari, a hearing was held at the BiH Court for Nenad Stevandić and Radovan Višković, suspected of attacking the constitutional order.
Although the BiH Court had published the schedule for this hearing on its trial roster, it was done only a few minutes before the hearing itself, so journalists could not even reach the "public hearing" which began at 12 o'clock.

After a secret hearing was held on Friday, July 4, in the afternoon for Milorad Dodik, for whom the detention measure was lifted and a measure prohibiting reporting to the Laktaši police station every 14 days was imposed at the proposal of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, it was expected that the same would happen in the case of Stevandić-Višković.

However, whether planned or not, the hearing was held precisely today, when Sarajevo is bidding farewell to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica. Detention was lifted for Stevandić and Višković, and a measure prohibiting reporting to the competent police authority every 14 days was imposed.

The President of the HJPC, Sanin Bogunić, confirmed this morning before the HJPC session that he had received information a month ago that negotiations were underway regarding the "surrender" of Milorad Dodik. He stated that he did not see any violation of the Criminal Procedure Code, but that the disciplinary prosecutor would investigate the conduct in this case.

Dodik, Stevandić, and Višković have been under an internal warrant since March 12, according to which they were supposed to be arrested in BiH. However, this did not happen, so the BiH Prosecutor's Office began negotiating with the fugitives, but in this case, clearly, it was about how to facilitate them, not bring them to justice.

The prosecution team formed for the case of the attack on the constitutional order was disbanded by the decision of Chief Prosecutor Milanko Kajganić, and only prosecutor Vedrana Mijović remained on the case.
