(Patria) - The defense of RS President Milorad Dodik has submitted an appeal to the BiH Court against the first-instance verdict sentencing him to one year in prison and a six-year ban on political activity for disrespecting the decisions of the High Representative.
Although Dodik claimed that the BiH Court does not interest him, and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (NSRS) adopted laws undermining the Court and Prosecutor's Office of BiH, and prohibiting the work of these institutions on the territory of RS, which the Constitutional Court of BiH declared invalid, his defense nevertheless obtained a power of attorney to file an appeal.
The BiH Prosecutor's Office has not commented, so it is not yet known whether the acting prosecutors have also filed an appeal, given that they requested a 10-year ban.
The bulletin that the BiH Prosecutor's Office sends to media outlets on Fridays did not mention any activities in the Milorad Dodik case today.
However, the BiH Court's Public Relations Office confirmed to Detektor that appeals have been received.
“The Court has received an appeal from the BiH Prosecutor's Office and an appeal from the defense of the accused Milorad Dodik in the case against the accused Milorad Dodik and others,” the State Court stated in its response.
