DODIK'S REGIME Bosniaks are the only nation denied their language in their homeland

(Patria) - The Vice-President of the Republika Srpska entity, Ramiz Salkić, said today, on the occasion of the International Mother Language Day, that Bosniaks are the only nation denied the right in their homeland to call their language whatever they want and to study it in the educational process.

He called on all citizens, speakers of the Bosnian language, to persevere in the fight for elementary human rights and to work even harder on the affirmation of the Bosnian language.

- Bosniaks are today the only nation in Europe denied the right in their homeland to call their language whatever they want and to study it in the educational process. Today, on International Mother Language Day, I want to further remind of this problem and once again call on those who deny this right to Bosniaks to stop doing so, but also on those who can help resolve this issue to do so - Salkić emphasized.

He stressed that Bosniaks will not give up their mother tongue, the Bosnian language, and they showed this in the 2013 census, when the majority of citizens of this country declared themselves to be users of the Bosnian language. 

- The census showed that it is not only Bosniaks who are speakers of the Bosnian language, but also other citizens of this country. The discrimination carried out by the authorities of the RS entity, as well as some cantons, regarding the Bosnian language should and must stop. Discrimination will not make users of the Bosnian language give it up, it can only strengthen the desire to further affirm the Bosnian language as an unquestionable linguistic category - Salkić stated.

He pointed out that "the denial of the Bosnian language in the RS entity according to the guidelines of SANU is a purely political issue and an attempt to expel everything that is associated with Bosnia and Herzegovina from the territories they have defined as territories where only the Serbian people, Orthodoxy, and Serbian culture and tradition can exist, which includes only the Serbian language".

- I call on all citizens, speakers of the Bosnian language, to persevere in the fight for our elementary human rights and to work even harder on the affirmation of the Bosnian language. The Bosnian language is part of our identity, our culture, our statehood, and any concession and giving up under the pressure of discrimination regarding language would mean giving up our identity, culture, and our only homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina - Salkić emphasized, it was announced from his office.
