Dodik's 'plan' against OSA decisions is for border police officers of Serb ethnicity to break the law

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik, member of the BiH Presidency and SNSD leader, said today that he will ask the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BiH, Zoran Tegeltija, to send a letter stating that the orders banning entry into BiH for professors, lawyers, and others on the list of the Intelligence-Security Agency should be revoked. Dodik today attacked the director of OSA, Osman Mehmedagić, as well as the Service for Foreigners' Affairs.

What is perhaps an even bigger problem is the announcement that border police officers from among the Serbs will, in a certain way, violate the decisions of OSA and even the laws of the state of BiH and allow persons from Serbia who are banned from entering BiH to pass.

"When someone announces they are coming from Serbia, we will try to do that through a shift change when Serbs are working, and that's how we will handle it. But if that is the intention, they have succeeded excellently. We did not want that. If they want, they will have a game," Dodik said.

We remind you that lawyer Goran Petronijević was not allowed entry into BiH on March 25 at the Karakaj border crossing because he "poses a threat to security, public order, public peace and order, and public health in BiH or to the international relations of BiH."

Former commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie, General Bratislav Dikić, was turned back at the Rača border crossing.

Earlier, entry was denied to history professor at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, Miloš Ković, with the explanation that he "poses a threat to the security of BiH."

Following these statements by Dodik, a reaction is expected from the Director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galić, just as a statement was issued on Saturday clarifying the procedure of border police officers in the Petronijević case.

"During border checks, police officers of the BiH Border Police inspect documents as well as travel documents prescribed for crossing the state border and carry out checks in search and other records through the information system for technical data processing, as well as other measures and actions prescribed by the Law on Border Control, the Law on Foreigners, and other regulations. Acting in accordance with the provisions of the said regulations, police officers of the BiH Border Police did not approve entry, i.e., denied entry into BiH for Petronijević Goran, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, on March 25, 2022, at the International Border Crossing Karakaj because the said person did not meet the conditions for entry into BiH prescribed by the Law on Foreigners, Article 19, paragraph (3), point g), due to the fact that he was recorded in the Register of Implemented Measures concerning foreigners, which is kept through the Register of Certain Foreigners with an assessment that the presence of the said person on the territory of BiH poses a threat to the security of BiH, public order, and public peace in BiH. The recording of the said measure as well as the determination of the assessment that the presence of a certain person on the territory of BiH poses a threat to the security of BiH, public order, and public peace in BiH in the Register of Implemented Measures concerning foreigners is not within the competence of the BiH Border Police but is within the competence of other bodies prescribed by Article 8 of the Law on Foreigners," stated the BiH Border Police.

From the BiH Border Police, they then emphasized that they have no jurisdiction or authority regarding the recording of the said measures in the Registers nor regarding their determination, and therefore the alleged 'responsibility' on that basis cannot be disposed of.
