Dodik wants to join the BiH Presidency, predicts Izetbegović will lose leadership position in SDA

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska and leader of SNSD, speaking on FACE TV left open the possibility that he will be a candidate for the Presidency of BiH. In that context, he mentioned the name of Mirko Šarović, for whom he claims has "American support" and that he can win a large number of Bosniak votes, which Mladen Ivanić lost.

When asked why he does not leave politics, Dodik said that "as long as I keep winning, I will be here." He announced that he will have great support in the upcoming elections.

Answering the question of what he has against Bakir Izetbegović, member of the BiH Presidency and leader of SDA, Dodik said that he has nothing and that if they were not party leaders, they would probably never even talk or know each other. Dodik "predicted" that Izetbegović will lose his leadership position in SDA after leaving the BiH Presidency.

- He will not remain the leader of SDA after these elections, at least that is my assumption - said Dodik, adding that after the 2014 elections he spoke with Izetbegović, but that the political differences between SDA and SNSD resulted in the Alliance for Changes entering the government.

Dodik said that he is not against BiH, but that he recognizes the Dayton BiH, which consists of two entities and in which foreigners do not interfere.

Speaking about who will represent the Bosniak people, Dodik said that he respects the Bosniak people, whom he considers honest, and that they will choose their own representative.

Dodik said that he considers Dragan Čović a friend and that they cooperate well and that will remain so.
