Dodik wants to reject the European Court ruling in the 'Kovačević' case in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska

(Patria) - President of RS Milorad Dodik said today that he will initiate the holding of a session of the National Assembly of RS as soon as possible, at which it would be proposed to reject the decision of the European Court for Human Rights in the "Kovačević" case.

He says that RS is not surprised by the European Court's ruling.

- I will propose that the National Assembly of RS reject the recommendations of this court as unacceptable, as an act of voluntarism and an idealistic approach to organizing the country, as a new imposition of impossible conditions on BiH.

This is a legally inadmissible and politically speculative decision, systematically destructive for BiH. I propose that the National Assembly of RS propose to the BiH authorities to reject such a decision as null and void, and we will do that, as far as we are concerned, immediately at the session of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH - Dodik stated.

He states that the goal of the European Court's ruling is to confront the constituent nature of peoples and to reject and undermine the elements of the Dayton Agreement and the Constitution as Annex 4 of that agreement, which is the basic constituent act.

He asserted that the ruling further introduces problems into BiH, but that it is more of a recommendation than a binding decision.

- Things that undermine BiH have contributed to such a thing. I don't think they are even aware that BiH is causing a bigger problem on the European path and stopping it in processes related to development opportunities - Dodik pointed out at a press conference in Banja Luka.

He also believes that the ruling "goes beyond the framework of the European Convention and permanently divides BiH".

- BiH cannot survive as a country based on the civic principle. Neither did Yugoslavia, nor any country in these regions, nor can Belgium or Switzerland do so today - Dodik assesses.

He also commented on the announced gathering in his support in front of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, to which he was invited "for unconstitutional actions", saying that he hopes that if participants who support him appear, the police will provide them with security.

- As for me, I have said everything. What will happen in court, I don't know. It's all from a bad father and a worse mother. For years, we have been warning that this is not a reflection of the rule of law. It is a complete mess - concluded Dodik.
