Dodik returns to Sarajevo: Meeting with Čović, Izetbegović, and EU Commissioner

(Patria) - Republika Srpska respects the Dayton Agreement and has no plans for secession, Milorad Dodik reiterated. He emphasized that Republika Srpska is ready to continue working in BiH institutions if the imposed Inzko law is withdrawn.

After the meeting with EU Enlargement Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi in Banja Luka, Dodik addressed reporters.

“Our talks were related to the political situation. We are expected to return to work in state bodies. Those who are behind the imposed Law on the Denial of Genocide should solve that problem. Without the withdrawal and abolition of that decision, it will not be possible. We believe that the issue of property was resolved by Dayton. Our proposal is to resolve this issue by mutual agreement. Property belongs to the entities and the district,” said Dodik.

“I am immediately traveling to Sarajevo to talk with European ambassadors, Čović and Izetbegović, as well as the Commissioner. We are ready to work on the implementation of a large investment package that includes the construction of a highway. I would not like us to be put in a situation where we have to choose between accepting what political Sarajevo wants to use EU funds or engaging some other alternative factors.

The highway is the most important project, it is requested that RS take on debt to build the Šćepan Polje – Foča highway, we are primarily interested in using EU funds but we can also find an alternative.

The meeting in the building of the Government of Republika Srpska in Banja Luka was also attended by the President of Republika Srpska, Željka Cvijanović, and the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković.
