Dodik boasted: Hungary will provide money for projects that Germany blocked

(Patria) - President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik held a press conference in Banja Luka, where he discussed the results of a meeting in Budapest, where he met with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and numerous other officials.

At the beginning of the press conference, Dodik said that the meeting in Budapest confirms that Republika Srpska has friends.

"Usually, here in Republika Srpska, there are those who say that Republika Srpska is being pushed aside, that we are excluded from financial opportunities. Republika Srpska has friends, and it has more friends and people who understand us than ever before. We had the opportunity to meet with important people from countries, such as Janša, Kurz, several representatives of European governments. The key events were meetings with Orbán, Aliyev, Erdogan, and Vučić. We discussed all current and important issues for Republika Srpska," said Dodik.

He stated that everyone was interested in the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republika Srpska's relationship with the High Representative.

"They all seek explanations for this situation. Our answers are well-known. There is no High Representative in BiH. It is a deception that he is the High Representative of the international community; he is a signatory, which means he depends on our will. What we have is a surrogate, a lie spread throughout BiH. People understand this, leaders understand it. Everyone is aware that it is impossible for a foreigner to exist who can intervene in legislation. Besides the fact that the Constitution states that the only legislative body at the BiH level is the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH," explained the president of this BiH entity.

Furthermore, Dodik said that during the meeting with Orbán, an agreement was reached on a new financial arrangement for Republika Srpska.

"The total arrangement we reached with Hungary amounts to 118 million euros. 18 million will go to support projects for the procurement of agricultural machinery. We will redirect 70 million euros to projects that the German government tried to block in a shameful manner. We can use those 70 million to support projects. I asked for information on the status of those projects. Today, the contract between the German Bank and Elektroprivreda RS is current. They said they do not agree with the federal government and that the contract is current. We are waiting for written confirmation of what this is about," said Dodik.

He emphasized that Elektroprivreda RS was correct towards Germany, but that the other side showed no understanding.

"They are completely rude and incorrect. Elektroprivreda paid one and a half million euros in interest to preserve the project, counting on its realization. They devised a scenario that Dodik is bad, that they don't like something, and therefore they will terminate the contract. They weren't even able to do that," concluded Dodik.
