(Patria) - The President of Republika Srpska and leader of SNSD, Milorad Dodik, announced that a meeting of coalition partners in RS will be held tomorrow to decide on the elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Dodik noted that the Election Law was imposed on BiH, and that Republika Srpska has clearly stated that it does not want it.
“Perhaps we started a bit late with the adoption of the Election Law of Republika Srpska to be able to make it for these elections. This will obviously not happen because we have a procedure in the Council of Peoples and probably in the Constitutional Court,” Dodik told reporters in Budapest.
Let us remind you, opposition politicians and analysts have warned that this is just another trick by Milorad Dodik and that SNSD, as well as other ruling parties from RS, will register for the elections under the amendments to the Election Law of Bosnia and Herzegovina imposed by the High Representative in BiH Christian Schmidt, whom they do not recognize.
On the other hand, Dodik says, if parties from RS do not register for the elections, they risk the possibility of a scenario from northern Kosovo, when Serbs did not participate in the elections, and the elections were declared legitimate.
“This is not any kind of concession, nor giving importance to Christian Schmidt, nor any kind of compliance with Western powers. In the long run, I think we should work against their intentions, and sometimes that involves participating in that process. I think people understand that,” Dodik said.
