Dodik spoke with Radončić: Migrants are a common problem that needs to be solved

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Milorad Dodik, SNSD president and BiH Presidency member, said at today's press conference after the SNSD Executive Committee session and meeting with the BiH Minister of Security Fahrudin Radončić that migrants are indeed a common problem that needs to be solved. He said he welcomes Radončić's approach, which includes discussions with all security segments on important issues for BiH, and that he will continue the talks. 

"We (SNSD) believe that it is unnecessary to engage the BiH Armed Forces on the border with Serbia and Montenegro. BiH does not have the money to solve the migrant crisis. The EU is offering money to build settlements, schools to integrate migrants, and then they would take what suits them for their needs, leaving us with those who have not integrated," said Dodik, adding that no country in the region has decided to engage its army on its borders. 

He added that the situation is complex, and as he said, the EU is most responsible for the migrant crisis.

"The EU proclaimed a policy of open doors, and that was a signal for migrants to move. They most often come from Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, and least from Syria. This is a serious mistake by the EU; their policies of action and solving the migrant crisis could be effective if the EU had proclaimed a policy of closed borders towards Greece, Bulgaria, and Turkey," said Dodik. 

When asked by journalists if he would withdraw from his positions, as called for by Adil Osmanović, SDA vice-president, Dodik said he would not.

"We will not withdraw; we should let Šarović and others continue to betray the interests of RS. Our policies are clear, and we will continue to implement them," said Dodik. He reiterated his views on the OHR and the international community.
