DODIK THREATENS COUP d'état It's time for a 'Rapid Bosnian Response'

What war, what nonsense. There will be no war here. These are platitudes that Bosniaks from Sarajevo try to scare foreigners with. Here, I ask the question: what would Sarajevo do if we did that, said Milorad Dodik in an interview for the BiH edition of Večernji list. 

He added that the political authorities in BiH would not be able to use the army, nor the police, because the Federal Police Administration does not have the right to cross the inter-entity and inter-cantonal line. 

Directly and without mincing words, Milorad Dodik announced a coup d'état with the intention of Serb-Croat secession of BiH. Although likely aware that this is difficult to achieve in the current momentum, Dodik is testing the waters, to gauge

the determination and readiness to react of those who see BiH as nothing other than a sovereign, whole, and independent BiH.

And indeed, apart from the traditionally unclear reaction of Željko Komšić, which lacks elements of statesmanship, along with the already seen political sarcasm, others remained silent and mute. 

Dodik is calling out Sarajevo, but he actually means his coalition brother Bakir Izetbegović, with whom he shares power at the state level, from which he would withdraw. If Izetbegović were even minimally literate and politically astute, everything would be ready for a response to Dodik's announcements in less than 24 hours. 

However, besides Izetbegović and the SDA, other Bosniak and pro-Bosnian political centers should have reacted, but did not. In fact, all political options that cohabit Bosnia and Herzegovina in the full sense of the word should have decisively told Dodik that a response would be ready. This raises the question of whether Dodik achieved what he wanted, given the lack of reaction. 

Instead of activating all alarms, the politics that declaratively advocates for a democratic and unified state has fallen silent and overlooked everything. 

And not just Sarajevo. Croatian political representatives who do not fall under Dragan Čović's wing should also have reacted. Unless they too are secretly hoping for Milorad Dodik's coup d'état.

Nevertheless, the most qualified to react is the Party of Democratic Action, which holds power in BiH vertically and horizontally. The party led by Bakir Izetbegović manages the ministries of defense and security, and has a member of the BiH Presidency.

If they are not capable of reacting to the announcements, will they be ready when Dodik moves from words to deeds? 

"Federal police cannot cross the entity border, nor from one canton to another," says Dodik. Those who remember the beginning of the migrant crisis and the transfer of migrants to the Salakovac camp, Dragan Čović tried to show that this was true. 

However, after a more decisive message and readiness for action from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Federation and the Federal Police Administration, the police entered HNK. 

Such decisiveness is needed today. For example, it would not be bad to send an FUP unit to West Herzegovina, just to show Dodik and Čović that it is possible. 

Because the announcement of a coup d'état is the last step towards an attempt to realize the secessionist policies led in tandem by Dodik and Čović.

Also, the BiH Minister of Security, Selmo Cikotić, is responsible for all security agencies at the BiH level. It is symptomatic that he too remained silent, so we hope that this idea of Dodik's is not as sexy to him as migrants. 

BiH Minister of Defense Sifet Podžić is also watching everything silently.

Dodik has activated alarms, whether Bosniak and pro-Bosnian politics will wake up remains to be seen. 

What is particularly strange about all of this is the place from which Dodik announces an anti-state move. After visiting Zoran Milanović and Andrej Plenković on behalf of the Greater Serbian policy, Dodik, in an interview with a media outlet of the Greater Croatian policy, revealed the story of the breakup of BiH and a coup d'état.

Aware that he will thus mask his employer and boss Aleksandar Vučić, Dodik is now threatening from the west, instead of the east.

Although he has often spoken about the "impossibility of BiH", "referendum" and the like, Dodik has only mentioned the option of a coup d'état by united Bosnian Serbs and Croats against BiH and Bosniaks twice. 

"Herceg-Bosna can very well be a reality. Because, if Croats truly want it, and if Republika Srpska then supports it – then Bosniaks, or Muslims, are a dramatic minority in all of this," Dodik told Darko Hudelist six years ago, while the respected journalist of "Nedjeljni Jutarnji" was touring the smaller BiH entity with him. 

Hudelist himself commented on Dodik's intention as Dodik's plan for a coup d'état at the right time and, of course, secession. 

"Milorad Dodik has expressed the essence of his current political aspirations, which include offering an agreement or deal with Croats in BiH on the creation of a so-called loose confederation in BiH and the future, when the time comes, independence and secession of both RS and the Croatian confederal unit or state, i.e., the presumed Herceg-Bosna," wrote Hudelist. 

And indeed, Dodik's threat of the breakup of BiH has been going on for too long. This latest one about a coup d'état is the most serious and direct. Alarms should sound throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, signaling the start of preparations for a rapid response to the secessionist idiot from Laktaši and his partner, the criminal and perpetrator of organized crime from Mostar. 

It's time for a "Rapid Bosnian-Herzegovinian Response".
