Dodik proposed Savo Minić for RS Prime Minister

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik, whose mandate as President of RS was revoked by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC BiH), today proposed Savo Minić from Šamac as a candidate for the Prime Minister of RS.

Dodik did this despite no longer being the President of RS, as the CEC BiH determined the termination of his mandate due to a final verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dodik submitted the proposal to the National Assembly of RS (NSRS) based on the authority from Article 80, Paragraph 1, Point 2, in conjunction with Article 94, Paragraph 10 of the Constitution of RS.

The Central Election Commission of BiH, at its session on August 6, made a decision on the termination of Milorad Dodik's mandate as President of RS, after which Dodik's defense filed an appeal.

The Appellate Panel of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina rejected Milorad Dodik's appeal against the decision of the Central Election Commission of BiH, which determined the termination of Dodik's mandate, as unfounded.

Dodik was found guilty of committing the criminal offense of non-compliance with the decisions of the High Representative, for which he was sentenced to one year in prison. He was also issued a security measure prohibiting him from holding the office of President of Republika Srpska for a period of six years from the date the verdict became final.

Deciding on the request of the convicted Milorad Dodik's defense to replace the imposed prison sentence with a fine, the Court of BiH, in accordance with legal regulations, issued a decision by which, after the statement of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, the defense's proposal was accepted, and the convicted Milorad Dodik's prison sentence was replaced with a fine.
