Dodik: I invite the opposition in RS to call me to a meeting, I have no intention of jeopardizing peace

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The RS will always mark the day of the initialing of the Dayton Peace Agreement because it is not only the day peace was established but also the position of the RS was secured.

"It brought in its territory, its people," said Milorad Dodik, president of the SNSD and member of the BiH Presidency.

He said that BiH is in an institutional crisis and that BiH is not a good place for life and development.

He called on the opposition to sit down and talk and remove the anathema from themselves that Serbian unity has been broken.

"I told the foreigners too, you and your sanctions, and we will exercise our rights. That speaks to your powerlessness. The RS has no right to withdraw. From the opposition come voices about which we should talk. I am ready to listen to them, even if they do not listen to me. I am ready to respond to their call anywhere and anytime. I do not understand that opposition parties, which include people who created the RS, allow some foreigner to say 'I succeeded in breaking the unity.' The RS has no intention of waging war, except to fight for its status and peace. I would not sacrifice peace even for the RS, I have said that clearly," said Dodik.

He added that "BiH today cannot be given the epithet of a stable community, and it is questionable whether it is even possible."

"Two constituent peoples are dissatisfied, I can speak on behalf of the Serbs. I do not speak on behalf of the Croats, but I believe and see that there is a permanent dissatisfaction with the status of Croats in BiH. We warned that agreements should be adhered to, not solutions imposed. Now that non-existent High Representative is supposed to impose solutions, backed by the force of the EU and the USA. The USA is pressuring us to submit to such lawlessness," said Dodik.

He reiterated the need for the RS to return as much as possible to "the letter of Dayton."

"That Dayton Agreement is the best balance, and I see nothing that could be a better offer. Foreigners should leave BiH, stop calling on the phone and threatening sanctions. Today I tell them that is no longer possible. They are meddling in the internal affairs of BiH. Serbs are dissatisfied and consider themselves cheated by the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement, which was to the detriment of the Serbian people, and as we see, also the Croatian people," said Dodik.

He adds that BiH is in a vicious circle and seems to have no particular way out.

"A strong satanization of Serbs and me personally has begun. But they will have to sit down and negotiate. We must free ourselves from colonial status, I say this for all peoples in BiH, and do everything possible to achieve what is possible through joint agreement. Every decision we make should be ours," says Dodik.

He emphasized that the RS has chosen the path of returning to the constitutional framework of BiH and a path based on the BiH Constitution, and has no intention whatsoever of jeopardizing peace in BiH.

"We are not enemies of the Bosniak and Croatian peoples. Our political assessment is that BiH can exist if it is based on the BiH Constitution," he added.

He announced that he has an important trip and meeting, but did not reveal where or with whom, but that it will not affect the plan to hold a special session of the NSRS regarding the transfer of competencies from the state to the entity.
