Dodik deliberately attacked the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution and the state of BiH by signing the Decree

(Patria) - The US Embassy reacted to Dodik's signing today of the Decree on the promulgation of the law that prevents the publication of OHR decisions in the Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska entity, stating that this represents a "deliberate attack" on the Dayton Agreement, the Constitution and the state of BiH, and that the US will "hold individuals involved in anti-Dayton behavior accountable for their actions."

“The decision of the President of Republika Srpska to sign the Decree on the promulgation of the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Publication of Laws and Other Regulations of Republika Srpska, which the High Representative annulled on July 1, is unconstitutional and represents a deliberate attack on the Dayton Peace Agreement, the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the state of BiH,” the Embassy stated in a Twitter post.

“The United States supports the sovereignty, territorial integrity and multi-ethnic character of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to hold individuals involved in anti-Dayton behavior accountable for their actions,” it added.

Recall, High Representative Christian Schmidt made a decision annulling these amendments to the law and stated that they will not enter into force. He also amended provisions of the Criminal Code of BiH, which stipulate a prison sentence of six months to five years for non-implementation of High Representative decisions.

With today's move, Dodik fulfilled what he had said – that he would not respect the decision of the High Representative, whom he claims has no legitimacy. The decisions of the NSRS and Dodik have been characterized by the international community as anti-Dayton and unconstitutional.
