(Patria) - The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the Balkans would be safe if it weren't for the meddling of Western countries, but that despite everything, he believes they will not succeed in destabilizing the region.
Dodik emphasized that RS has a strong political will to preserve stability and peace, and that global processes are rapidly leading to a multipolar world in which RS should have a place.
- The current defense of our positions is building a position for that place. We are small but geographically extremely important. And we should now be guided by our interests - Dodik told "Politika".
When asked if he thinks the security of the Balkans is threatened, which is not only talked about by the Bosniak National Council but also by Olaf Scholz, Dodik asked what the German Chancellor has to do with the security of the Balkans, stating that it is a matter for the Balkan peoples.
- If it weren't for their meddling, it would be safe. Scholz's government received tens of billions of euros for the army. Let's see if they will send it to Ukraine if they are so powerful. Maybe they need the Balkans as a place to practice. However, things are not as they were before, and I am not sure they will succeed in destabilizing the Balkans - Dodik stated.
He stressed that RS will have the wisdom to preserve peace, stating that it must guarantee inviolable security for Bosniaks in RS, which he says he takes very seriously.
- And the story about the prospects and relations between RS and FBiH is something completely different. I am not ready to build BiH with those in Sarajevo, because that country is unsustainable. Foreigners feed them stories and persuade them to distract us until they see if they will attack us, which I would not advise them to do - Dodik concluded.
