Dodik: I am not afraid of American power, the entity line will become a national border

(Patria) - The President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, who is on trial before the Court of BiH for not implementing the decisions of the High Representative, said that he is not afraid of the US warning that they will react in case someone tries to violate the Dayton Agreement, and that he will turn the administrative border between RS and the Federation of BiH into a national border.

"I am not irrational and I know that the American response will be the use of force, but I have no reason to fear that and to sacrifice the national interests of Serbs for that reason," Dodik said in an interview with AP.

He stated that any attempt to use international intervention to further strengthen the multi-ethnic institutions of BiH will be met with the decision of Serbs to completely abandon them.

"Since this will not be acceptable to Western democracies, in the next phase, due to their reaction, we will be forced to declare the full independence of Republika Srpska," said Dodik.

He emphasizes that one thing is clear and final among Serbs, and that is the growing realization that the coming years and decades will be a period of national unification for Serbs.

"Brussels is using the promise of EU accession as a tool for unifying BiH. In principle, our policy remains that we want EU accession, but we no longer see it as our only alternative," said Dodik.

He pointed out that the EU has "proven" to be capable of acting against its own interests by siding with Washington and against Moscow regarding the events in Ukraine.

"Whether the US and Great Britain like it or not, we will turn the administrative border between the two entities into our national border," said Dodik.

We remind you that the Assistant US Secretary of State, James O'Brien, stated on Friday that the US is firm in its position that there will be no secession in BiH, and that America will react in case "anyone tries to violate the Dayton Agreement".
