Dodik does not give up on unconstitutional referendum: 1,219,399 on voter list, materials being printed

The Republika Srpska Commission for the Referendum Implementation has determined that there are 1,219,399 citizens of Republika Srpska on the voter list, including citizens of Brčko District who have entity citizenship of RS, writes the Patria news agency.

Citizens of Brčko will vote in the area of the city of Bijeljina and in Donji Žabar. Voting materials have been sent to the printing house, and by Tuesday, all municipal commissions will receive the materials. The referendum, where citizens will express their opinion on the Day of RS, is scheduled for September 25.

This is an anti-Dayton and unconstitutional move by the President of RS Milorad Dodik and the National Assembly of RS, which, by adopting the decision to hold the referendum, sent a message that it does not respect the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Members of the Peace Implementation Council in BiH (Russia abstained), have called on the authorities of the smaller BiH entity not to hold the referendum, and High Representative Valentin Inzko told "Dodik that he is playing with fire".

Serbian officials have also stated that they do not support the referendum.
