Dodik after mandate revocation: I am calling a referendum, the coalition defends the Dayton position of RS

(Patria) - Milorad Dodik, whose mandate as President of Republika Srpska was revoked by the Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina (CEC) following a final verdict of the Court of BiH, addressed journalists in the Palace of RS together with his coalition partners.

Although he has the right to appeal the decision, Dodik announced today that he will not respect it.

„I swear that I will perform my duties conscientiously and responsibly, keep state secrets, defend and represent the interests of the people and citizens of RS, and honorably respect the Constitution and laws of BiH and RS. There is no CEC here,“ Dodik stated earlier on social media.

In his address to the media, he emphasized that the coalition is determined to defend the „Dayton position of RS.“ He also reiterated that the High Representative is not legitimate.

„The people gave me the mandate, therefore we will heed them in a referendum on me and the functions I perform, which, I believe, based on the decision of the Assembly, will be held among the people in an appropriate period. Bosniak politics has exhausted all its wishes; we do not appreciate them. They did not wish for themselves, but against us. Everything they have done in this period was directed against Republika Srpska,“ Dodik said.
