Dodik: We have a complete stalemate in negotiations on the Constitutional Court of BiH, some laws can be adopted

(Patria) - BiH's European path is not disputed for Republika Srpska, but there are many challenges on that path and the Constitution must be respected, said the President of RS Milorad Dodik in Brussels today after a meeting of leaders of ruling parties with European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi.

"The BiH Constitution must be respected and the fact that the EU requires adaptation through reforms, which means that decisions are autonomously made by local actors in the sense that they opt for the EU, and not by foreigners, regardless of whose name or in what capacity," said Dodik.

The Growth Plan, or the money that the European Union has planned for the Western Balkans, was also discussed.

He pointed out that there is a serious stalemate in BiH with partners when it comes to the issue of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

"We have serious delays in dynamics. We can talk, and that is that the Appellate Division is based in Banja Luka, we do not have an agreement on that yet, but also with that, the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering, that would be a good incentive. Varhelyi had a positive approach, appealing for progress to be made," said Dodik.

Answering the question whether the alleged issues of dissolution were discussed at the meeting, Dodik said that foreigners are creating a BiH that cannot survive.

"Obviously, Republika Srpska will not be able to be part of the EU consent package without visibility, if it is to be eliminated. We recognize that. You have some parliamentarians who are lobbied, who are paid, they say something. My question to the European parliamentarians is what kind of rule of law is it, if the High Representative is illegitimately there and imposes laws. They are not familiar with the details in BiH, but they discuss us. BiH can be a state based on the Constitution, not disintegrate on the Constitution. I want BiH to be constitutional, but if it is not constitutional, then it is not acceptable. We said that we are for the European path, I am not as optimistic as I was before, but I am rational, that this path should be followed," said Dodik.

In the end, he pointed out that he proposed the adoption of the Law on Courts, the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, and to resolve the issue of number 112.

"By the RS Government and the FBiH Government adopting the same number, as well as with electronic signatures, and not wasting time with the transfer of competencies. I think Varhelyi appealed to the need to speed up the processes," he concluded.
