Dodik and RS Unyielding: Seeking New Law on BiH Constitutional Court and Referendum on January 9th

RS President Milorad Dodik and officials from RS parties held a meeting and signed a joint statement deciding that in the coming period, a referendum will be called where RS citizens will express their opinion on whether they support the BiH Constitutional Court's Decision on the Day of RS and whether they are in favor of January 9th remaining the Day of RS, writes the BiH news agency Patria.

Dodik said after the meeting that a unified agreement was reached by all participants on how to act following the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court.

In the statement they signed, they demand that the BiH Constitutional Court annul the decision on the unconstitutionality of January 9th. They also state that the decision was made under the influence of international judges.

Dodik emphasized that within the shortest possible time, no later than 120 days, the BiH Parliamentary Assembly will be asked to pass a new law on the BiH Constitutional Court, which would remove foreign judges from this institution. If this does not happen, political parties from RS will decide on further work in BiH institutions.

The president added that a referendum will be organized in Republika Srpska where citizens in Srpska will express whether they support the decision of the BiH Constitutional Court and whether they are in favor of January 9th remaining the holiday, the Day of the Republic.
