Dodik and Džaferović spoke with the Vice President of Turkey

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Chairman of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik and member of the Presidency of BiH Šefik Džaferović received the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay. Members of the Presidency of BiH informed Vice President Oktay that BiH has reached a consensus on the comprehensive route of the Sarajevo - Belgrade highway and thanked him for the readiness of the Republic of Turkey to help connect these two cities as soon as possible by building the road, through financing from the Turkish side and the interest of Turkish construction companies to get involved and complete the construction quickly.

Members of the Presidency of BiH reminded the high-ranking guest that the state institutions of BiH, immediately after the attempted coup in the Republic of Turkey, expressed their full support for the legitimately elected state authorities, while expressing regret for the loss of human lives. Additionally, they thanked Vice President Oktay for the decision of the Government of the Republic of Turkey to approve duty-free import of 15,000 tons of meat and meat products from BiH, which is treated as aid to BiH after the 2014 floods.

It was stated at the meeting that the most important areas of bilateral relations between the two countries are legally regulated and defined, and that in the coming period it is necessary to ratify the remaining agreements and proceed with their full implementation.
In this context, Vice President Oktay emphasized that Turkey still stands by the quota for importing BiH meat, and that it wants to see the ratification of the revised Free Trade Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey as soon as possible, thanks to which trade exchange between the two friendly countries could soon reach a volume of more than one billion US dollars.
