Dodik-Čović: Strategic partnership in dismantling the state

It is no secret that Milorad Dodik and Dragan Čović established a partnership long ago in dismantling the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the Patria agency.

The two of them do not have different views on any important issue for the state of BiH. This is also the case now regarding accession to NATO and the construction of the Pelješac Bridge.

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, stated that the policy of RS is to reject BiH's path to NATO. Dragan Čović remains silent about all this, although he publicly presents himself as a strong advocate for EU and NATO integration.

The reason for Čović's silence is likely that he has broader common plans with Dodik. As a member of the Presidency of BiH, Čović should represent the interests of the state in whose institutions he sits, but instead, he supports the announced illegal construction of the Pelješac Bridge, thus directly siding with the neighboring country.

Dodik stated that he has nothing against the construction of the Pelješac Bridge, because, in his opinion, Croatia has the right to build whatever it wants on its territory. Dodik is not interested at all that this is not Croatian territory, but international waters, and that Croatia cannot build anything without the consent of BiH institutions.

Opposition politicians reacted to Dodik's statements and Čović's silence.

The president of the Croatian Party of BiH, Božo Skopljaković, called on Čović to condemn Dodik's announcement of a referendum on joining the NATO alliance, as did the president of HDZ 1990, Ilija Cvitanović.

The president of SDS, Vukota Govedarica, reacted similarly, stating that Dodik's announcement of a referendum on NATO is either very thoughtless or a classic manipulation of the people.

Regardless of the opposition's reactions, Dodik and Čović continue to undermine the country's European path.
