Additional Public Call: Another 250,000 KM for Traditional Crafts and Trades

(Patria) - The Ministry of Economy of Sarajevo Canton has prepared an additional Public Call for the allocation of incentive funds for the preservation and development of traditional crafts - trades for 2021.

Craftsmen - tradesmen engaged in traditional and old crafts - trades, whose business premises and residence are in Sarajevo Canton, can exercise their right under this Public Call, provided they meet the conditions and criteria prescribed by the Regulation on Criteria and Procedures for Exercising the Right to Incentive Funds for the Preservation and Development of Traditional and Old Crafts – Trades.

"In February, we published a public call for the preservation and development of traditional crafts for which we had secured funds of 250,000 KM. Given that, at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy, additional funds for this purpose in the amount of 250,000 KM were secured in the Rebalance of the Sarajevo Canton Budget for 2021, we have today issued an additional public call, which has not been the case in previous years in the Canton," said the Minister of Economy Adnan Delić, reminding that in previous years 150,000 KM was allocated for the development and preservation of traditional crafts.

Minister Delić also reminded that this call is the result of efforts to keep a promise made to craftsmen during a visit to Kazandžiluk (Coppersmith Street) in the summer.

"Given that old crafts are in deficit, but also one of the most endangered activities particularly affected by the coronavirus pandemic, I considered it necessary to find an adequate modality to facilitate them in every possible way. They are our cultural – historical treasure and heritage, we must find a way to save them from disappearing. Their centuries-long existence is a testament to an era of our city and our existence in these areas," emphasized Minister Delić.

With the implementation of this additional Public Call for the development and preservation of traditional crafts – trades, a total of half a million KM will be implemented for this purpose, which is the largest amount in Sarajevo Canton to date.
