German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who is arriving on an official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, will be ceremonially welcomed in Sarajevo with the highest state and military honours. Chancellor Merkel and a delegation from the Federal Republic of Germany will meet with Chairman Denis Zvizdić and a delegation of the Council of Ministers of BiH, reports the Patria News Agency.
Earlier, Chancellor Merkel told her hosts that, despite the existing difficulties, the progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the path of European integration is noticeable and that there are good chances for BiH to join the European Union (EU).
For Chairman Zvizdić, Merkel's message represents an extremely positive signal and an encouraging and stimulating message for all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to more actively dedicate themselves to the realisation of key priorities, which are: European integration, economic development, and the rule of law.
During her visit to BiH, the German Chancellor will visit the "Gallery 11/07/95" with Chairman Zvizdić. This is the first memorial gallery in BiH, an exhibition space aimed at preserving the memory of the Srebrenica tragedy and the 8,372 people tragically killed in the Srebrenica genocide, it was announced from the Council of Ministers of BiH.
