Voluntary coronavirus testing in Greece costs between 120 and 300 euros

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The price of voluntary coronavirus testing in Greece ranges from 120 euros – not including the doctor's examination fee, and reaches up to 300 euros, including the examination, Greek media reported.

For comparison, a test for seasonal flu costs from ten euros – not including the doctor's examination fee, and can reach 70 euros, including the examination fee.

The reason for testing for the new coronavirus technically named “SARS-CoV-2” is if you have traveled or been in contact with someone who has recently traveled to an endemic area (China, Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, Iran, and Northern Italy), or if you belong to a high-risk group for infection, such as healthcare workers.

The procedure for voluntary testing for the new coronavirus in Greece begins with a call to the National Health Organization's telephone number.

There, you need to report your travel or contact history, and any alarming symptoms (runny nose, dry cough, fever, shortness of breath, joint and muscle pain), based on which you will receive instructions to go to one of the 15 reference hospitals for the test.
