GOOD PEOPLE FROM OUR PARTY Municipal councillor lobbied Minister Hasičević to deny Tešanj an exemption from the Sunday trading ban

(Patria) - After the Municipality of Tešanj decided to initiate a procedure to be exempted from the ban on Sunday trading, which has been in effect since November 17, and based on the decision of the Municipal Council to seek an exemption from the Federal Ministry of Trade, the entire procedure was doomed to failure in advance by Nermin Deljkić, a councillor of Our Party in the Tešanj Municipal Council.

On January 29, he posted on his Facebook that he had already informed Minister Hasičević, who is also his party colleague from Gračanica and the federal minister of trade, and who replied that he would not give consent.

"During the day, he replied that he WILL NOT give consent, because everything they stated is lies and an attempt by a small, well-organized group of people and the authorities serving big capital to return everything to the old settings, so they have no problem lying and peddling falsehoods as justification," Deljkić stated in the post.

Incidentally, the Federal Ministry of Trade issued a statement on January 29, stating that the decline in turnover in the municipality of Tešanj cannot be linked to the application of the Law on Internal Trade of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Article 18, which prescribes the working hours of retail sales facilities.

"Catering establishments are exempt from the article of this law, so claims about a decrease in turnover in catering establishments cannot in any way be attributed to the introduction of the Sunday trading ban. All this indicates that such statements and inaccurate claims are exclusively politically motivated in order to deny the rights of trade workers for the sake of petty profiteering by individuals," the Ministry of Trade of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina stated.

However, regardless of that, the cadres of Our Party have shown that they are prone to everything they accused others of while claiming to be in favor of respecting the law and procedures. Now that they are in power, the methods used by their cadres show that they are far from the liberal party they present themselves as.

Following the publication of this information, federal representative Admir Čavalić (SBiH) also reacted, saying that investigative authorities should be involved here.

"If this is true, then investigative authorities must be involved - from influence peddling to abuse of position. By the way, Orašje received an exemption without any problems or threats," Čavalić stated.

A meeting at the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina with traders and food producers regarding prices has been announced for Monday, and it is certain that the Sunday trading ban and its effects will also be discussed.

Several municipalities and towns have already announced that they will seek an exemption from the application of this decision.
