Recipients of the April 6th Award to receive 5,000 KM

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The 35th session of the City Council of Sarajevo was held today in the City Hall, chaired by Igor Gavrić, President of the City Council. At the beginning of the session, the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, presented a letter of thanks to the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH, for successful cooperation in the past period and support for the projects of the City of Sarajevo. The letter of thanks to the Directorate represents the result of successful cooperation and understanding between the City of Sarajevo and the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies of BiH and the support provided by the Directorate in the implementation of the 14th European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) 2019, which was attended by over 1,500 participants - competitors from 46 countries. 

The session's work, according to the agenda, began with the City Council being informed by an official notice from the Mandate-Immunity Committee about the termination of the mandate of city councilor Dado Stojnić. Also, through information from the Mandate-Immunity Committee, the City Council was officially informed about the awarding of a mandate to city councilor Denis Stojnić, who, by taking a solemn oath, assumed the duties and acquired the rights and obligations of a city councilor.

At today's session, at the proposal of city councilors Igor Gavrić, Nuko Grebović, Miro Lazović, and Edina Gabela, a decision was adopted to declare Branko Crvenkovski the "Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo".

In the continuation of the session, the city councilors considered and awarded three "City of Sarajevo Plaque" recognitions. At the proposal of the Mayor of Sarajevo, Abdulah Skaka, the Decision on awarding the "City of Sarajevo Plaque" to Ismet ef. Spahić was adopted. Then, at the proposal of Samir Fazlić and Tarik Jažić, the "City of Sarajevo Plaque" recognition was awarded to Saudina Bećirevića (posthumously), and at the proposal of the University of Sarajevo - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, to Prof. Dr. Halil Güneş.

Then, the Decision on the amount of the monetary value of the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2020 was adopted. The monetary amount of the "April 6th Award of the City of Sarajevo" in 2020, by this Decision, was set at 5,000.00 KM.

The City Council adopted the Decision on the election of members of the Commission for the review, processing, and analysis of received applications for scholarships for high school students, representatives of the City Council for the 2019/2020 school year, which will review the received applications and determine the right to scholarships for high school students in 2020.

Furthermore, the City Council considered and adopted the Decision on raising the Memorial Monument "HVO Sarajevo".

The City Councilors adopted the Decision on amendments and additions to the Calendar of marking dates and events significant for the City of Sarajevo. In accordance with the adopted decision, the date of marking the "Day of Remembrance of Children Killed in Besieged Sarajevo 1992-1995" in the Calendar is changed from 09.05. to 05.05., and the Calendar is supplemented by marking 04.05. as the "Day of the Siege of Sarajevo".

Then, the Decision on giving consent to the Work Program of the Public Institution "Museum of Contemporary Art ARS AEVI Sarajevo" with the financial plan for 2020 was adopted. Furthermore, the Decision on accession to the Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy and the development of an Action Plan for Sustainable Energy and Climate Change Mitigation (English: Sustainable energy and climate action plan - SECAP) was adopted.

In the continuation of the session, the city councilors considered and adopted the Decision on the adoption of Amendments and Additions to the Regulatory Plan "Quadrant C1 - Marijin Dvor" with the Decision on the implementation of Amendments and Additions to the Regulatory Plan "Quadrant C1 - Marijin Dvor", thereby creating planned prerequisites for the construction of residential and commercial buildings.
 
The City Councilors considered the Draft Decision on the adoption of the Regulatory Plan "Quadrant C - Marijin Dvor" with the Draft Decision on the implementation of the Regulatory Plan "Quadrant C - Marijin Dvor", and, by conclusion, sent it for public discussion for a period of 30 days.

A Draft Decision on raising a Memorial Plaque for the fallen members of the Green Berets during the liberation of elevation 1162 - Vidikovac was also sent for public discussion for a period of 20 days.
